Pokhara has no shortage of places to stay. Our guests tell us they choose Bar Peepal for three reasons: where we are, how the resort is built, and how they are looked after once they arrive.
Above Lakeside, never far from it
The resort sits on the hillside on Mani Marg, Street No. 28, just above the Lakeside quarter. It's close enough to walk to the shore of Phewa Lake in about five minutes, and high enough that the evenings are quiet and the views run across the water to the ridges beyond.
From here the boats, cafés and galleries of Lakeside are a short stroll away. The World Peace Pagoda, Sarangkot and the old bazaar are a short drive. Pokhara International Airport is around fifteen minutes by road, and our car can meet your flight.

Built the Nepali way
Bar Peepal takes its name from the bar (banyan) and peepal trees that shade Nepal's chautari, the stone platforms where travelers have rested for centuries. The resort is built in that spirit: hand-laid stone, carved timber and wide balconies across 10.5 ropani of hillside gardens.
Inside are 45 rooms and suites, a rooftop infinity pool facing the lake, an AVEDA Wellness spa with steam room and sauna, and four places to eat, from the open-air Chautari terrace to Lamjung Kitchen.

Looked after like family
In Nepal there is a saying, atithi devo bhava: the guest is god. It shapes how our team works. They remember how you take your tea, arrange the boat before you ask, and answer on WhatsApp at any hour.
"Honestly one of the best experiences we've had."Google review
That care is reflected in what guests write afterwards. Bar Peepal is rated 4.7 on Google, and in 2025 received both the Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice award and a Booking.com Traveller Review Award, each based entirely on guest reviews.
Plan your stay
Two nights covers the essentials of Pokhara. Three or four let you settle into the rhythm of the place: mornings by the pool, an afternoon on the lake, and evenings on the terrace as the lights come on across the valley. Our guide to planning your time in Pokhara has more ideas.
