A resting place above Lakeside, built the Nepali way.
Named for the trees every Nepali traveler rests beneath
Along Nepal's old trails, travelers and porters have always stopped at the chautari: a stone platform shaded by a bar (banyan) and a peepal tree, planted side by side. It was a place to set down your load, share water and rest before the next climb.
Bar Peepal Resort carries that idea into Pokhara. Spread across 10.5 ropani of hillside gardens in Lakeside, the resort is built with local stone, slate and hand-carved timber, with views over Phewa Lake, the World Peace Pagoda and the Raniban forest. It sits just above the busy streets, about five minutes' walk from the lake.
Inside are 45 rooms and suites, a rooftop infinity pool, an AVEDA Wellness spa, a fitness centre and four places to eat, from the Chautari terrace to Lamjung Kitchen.
